Snowmobilers will find access to a vast network of nearly 1,000 miles of impeccably groomed Itasca County trails.  Lakewood Lodge is located between the Avenue of Pines Trail and the Bowstring West Trail.  So bring your sleds and take advantage of miles of trails that wind through scenic forests, near glittering lakes and over vast, white landscapes. Cross Country Skiers will love the area's 19 groomed ski trails with more than 200 kilometers to explore.  The varied terrain makes cross-country skiing enjoyable for the beginner, intermediate and expert.  Both classic and freestyle skiing is available as well as snowshoeing.  (View the Cross-Country Ski Trails Map).

Looking for great Ice Fishing?  Sand Lake produces nice limits of fish for ice anglers.  You'll catch jumbo perch, crappies, walleye, northern pike and largemouth bass. (walleye, northern pike and bass season ends in mid-February). Clean your catch in our heated fish cleaning house with running water all year.
