From Sand Lake there is direct access to Little Sand Lake, the Bowstring River, Rice Lake, Dora Lake and the Bigfork River, Birds' Eye Lake, and Portage Lake.
Lakewood Lodge is located on a quiet 80 acre bay on the southern side of the lake.
